Chapter 126 Flying Flying Flying
Chapter 126 Flying Flying Flying
Zhang Liangjun parked his car in the parking space downstairs and dialed Guan Juer's number. "Guan Guan, I'm downstairs at your company. Do you have time? Come down for a bit!"
Guan Juer quickly came downstairs, looking pale. Zhang Liangjun got out of the car to greet her. Guan Juer tried her best to appear normal, smiling as she asked Zhang Liangjun, "Brother Zhang, what brings you here? Is something wrong?"
Guan Juer didn't want Zhang Liangjun to see her in such a miserable state. She wanted to maintain a certain image in front of her beloved.
Zhang Liangjun took Guan Juer's hand, his central air conditioning mode activated again, radiating warmth. "I heard Yingying say that you seemed very unhappy yesterday! Did something happen? Are you having trouble at work?"
Guan Juer's forced smile finally crumbled, gradually turning into a pitiful expression. She suddenly hugged Zhang Liangjun, burying her face in his chest and sobbing, "I didn't do it! Why is the manager blaming me! I just signed a document! Waaah..."
Zhang Liangjun simply patted Guan Juer's back to help her catch her breath. Guan Juer recounted her experiences of the past two days in fits and starts: she had kindly helped Michelle finish the report, but hadn't checked Michelle's completed portion. When it was submitted, the client discovered the problem, and Michelle, to shirk responsibility, claimed Guan Juer had done it, since Guan Juer had signed it. The manager, not wanting to offend Michelle because her uncle was a regional executive, conveniently made Guan Juer the scapegoat.
"Okay, I got it. I'll take you somewhere!" Zhang Liangjun led Guan Juer into the car and drove out of Financial Street.
"Brother Zhang, where are we going?" Guan Juer looked into the distance, a little worried that her boss would ask, "I'm still at work! I'm scared..."
Zhang Liangjun chuckled, "Don't worry, this Huaxin Securities, although it looks good, is actually just so-so, especially in the last two years, its business has declined sharply, and it no longer lives up to its name! You can call that manager later and say that you have something to do and need to ask for leave."
Guan Juer said somewhat nervously, "Oh, okay."
Guan Juer didn't expect that the two of them would travel a long way! It took them more than two hours to reach Lake C.
Someone was already waiting for the two of them. Upon seeing Zhang Liangjun arrive, they stepped forward to greet him, "Mr. Zhang! Hello! We meet again. And this is?"
“Xiao Guan, my friend! He’s coming with me this time!” Zhang Liangjun explained.
The group then continued into a small building. Guan Juer glanced at the sign hanging at the entrance: C Lake Sunny Day Skydiving Club!
Zhang Liangjun sat down on a bench in the rest area and looked at Guan Juer. "Little Guan, this is the skydiving base. I've already booked a skydive for today. Would you like to jump with me?"
“But I can’t!” Although Guan Juer looked very quiet, Zhang Liangjun saw the eagerness in her eyes.
Zhang Liangjun waved his hand, "You don't need to know how to do it. Just a little training and a physical exam later." He had already jumped many times and even obtained an instructor's certificate, so he had no problem leading people to skydive.
"Then let's give it a try!" Guan Juer said softly.
Zhang Liangjun instructed the staff to assist Guan Juer with her ground training while he went to complete his pre-flight medical examination. By the time Zhang Liangjun finished his examination, Guan Juer had also finished her training. Zhang Liangjun accompanied Guan Juer for her medical check-up as well.
We boarded the plane, took off quickly, and soared into the sky.
On the plane, Zhang Liangjun and Guan Juer were already dressed in their gear. Zhang Liangjun looked even more handsome, and Guan Juer had a touch of heroism. Zhang Liangjun liked it very much and asked the staff to take a few more photos.
The altitude had reached 3,000 meters, which was nothing to Zhang Liangjun, but considering that it was Guan Juer's first time skydiving, Zhang Liangjun chose this not-so-high position.
The plane was about to taxi to its designated position. Zhang Liangjun and Guan Juer were already strapped together, with Zhang Liangjun pressed against Guan Juer's back as they stood in front of the cabin door, waiting. They heard the instructions from the crew: "The plane is about to arrive. Please prepare."
"Brother Zhang, I'm a little scared!" Guan Juer was still a young man of twenty, and she still had some instinctive fears!
Zhang Liangjun comforted him, "It's alright, I'm here!"
At that moment, the hatch finally opened, and a strong gust of wind blew in, causing the temperature to plummet. Guan Juer felt both nervous and cold, and her body trembled uncontrollably. Zhang Liangjun helped Guan Juer to the doorway and whispered in her ear, "We're about to begin! Come on, three! two! one! Let's go!"
A tremendous feeling of weightlessness washed over her, and Guan Juer was so frightened that she closed her eyes! She only opened them after her eyes had adjusted.
However, when she opened her eyes, the sight before her astonished her! It was a breathtakingly beautiful scene! The vast, boundless blue sky resembled a giant sapphire, pure and deep; snow-white clouds floated in the air, seemingly within reach. Sunlight streamed down, golden rays piercing through the clouds, illuminating a kaleidoscope of colors.
In the distance, rolling mountains stretch out, their verdant forests covering the land like a green ocean. The azure lake reflects the sky, but in a deeper shade; its surface, viewed from above, is as calm as a giant mirror. Upstream, the river meanders and stretches long, like a coiled dragon, while neatly arranged crops in the fields create a series of vibrant and colorful patterns.
Guan Juer reveled in the dreamlike beauty, feeling the wind whistling past her ears, her heart filled with awe and reverence for the wonders of nature. At that moment, all fear vanished, replaced by an unprecedented sense of freedom and exhilaration. High in the sky, the world seemed to quiet down. Only the sounds of the wind and her own heartbeat echoed in her ears—the melody of life, the call of freedom. At this altitude of a thousand meters, Guan Juer felt an unprecedented tranquility and peace.
Seeing the hands on either side adjusting their descent, Guan Juer also opened her arms and placed her hand in Zhang Liangjun's palm. Zhang Liangjun understood, interlocking his fingers and holding Guan Juer's hand. The air at 1,000 meters was cold, but Guan Juer's heart burned with warmth. She could feel that her heart, which had been bound for over twenty years, her soul, had finally awakened!
It seems she has found herself, her true self!
She also realized her feelings for Zhang Liangjun. In this world just the two of them, she sensed more clearly the distance between their hearts—so close, so in sync! Perhaps, only a man like this could accompany her for a lifetime!
The descent felt like it lasted a long time, but it was actually only a few tens of seconds; the two approached the ground at an extremely fast speed. Zhang Liangjun glanced at the altimeter, did some simple calculations in his mind, and determined the optimal time to open the parachute.
Three seconds later, Zhang Liangjun pulled the parachute switch, and a large, round parachute instantly opened behind them, slowing their descent. They floated in the air for five or six minutes before landing safely. Their landing point was less than ten meters from the center of their expected landing zone.
The moment Guan Juer was freed from her restraints, she turned around, hugged Zhang Liangjun, and kissed him…
