Chapter 510
Chapter 510
The fat man lay on the ground, speaking weakly.
"Yes, it was a really tough journey."
Wu Tianzhen wiped the sweat from her forehead and said with a wry smile.
However, everyone knew that this was just a small episode on their journey to find the core of the formation, and that many more unknown dangers awaited them ahead.
After a short rest, they stood up again and continued their march toward the central point of the formation in the village.
After a difficult trek, Zhang Hao and his group finally arrived at the location of the formation's core.
A chilling atmosphere permeated the place, as if even the air itself had frozen in fear.
In this gloomy space, a huge coffin was suspended high in the air by thick iron chains, like a judge from hell.
The iron chains gleamed coldly in the dim light, creaking and groaning as if they might break at any moment.
Around the suspended coffin, five smaller coffins are arranged in a pentagram shape, lying quietly on the ground, as if guarding the central coffin, or as if waiting for something.
The group approached cautiously, taking each step with extreme care, for fear of triggering some trap.
A hint of seriousness flashed in Zhang Hao's eyes; he knew that every moment to come was fraught with unknown dangers.
"Everyone be careful, there might be something terrible hidden in this coffin."
Zhang Hao whispered a reminder, his voice echoing in the quiet space, carrying a hint of barely perceptible tension.
Everyone nodded, gripping their weapons tightly, ready to deal with any potential dangers.
The fat man swallowed hard, his voice trembling slightly as he said:
"This coffin looks eerie. Could there really be some kind of zombie inside?"
His eyes were filled with fear, and fine beads of sweat appeared on his forehead.
Wu Tianzhen patted the fat man on the shoulder and comforted him:
"Don't scare yourself, we'll just be careful."
However, a hint of unease was also evident in his eyes.
Zhang Hao took a deep breath, walked to the suspended coffin, and carefully observed the patterns and symbols on it.
These patterns and symbols are twisted and eerie, as if telling a story of a terrifying, unknown history.
He reached out and gently touched the coffin. A chill ran through his fingertips, making him shiver.
"I'm about to open the coffin, everyone get ready."
Zhang Hao took a deep breath and said loudly.
Upon hearing this, everyone gripped their weapons tightly, took a few steps back, and stared nervously at the suspended coffin.
Zhang Hao used both hands to slowly push the coffin lid open.
With a creak, the coffin lid slowly opened, and a pungent, putrid stench wafted out, making people instinctively cover their mouths and noses.
Everyone's heart suddenly raced, their eyes fixed on the inside of the coffin, and they dared not even breathe.
Suddenly, a dark shadow darted out of the coffin at incredible speed, leaving no time for anyone to react.
Upon closer inspection, they saw a zombie reeking of decay standing before them.
This zombie was huge, over two meters tall, and covered in a layer of bluish-black scales, each scale gleaming with a cold, icy light.
Its eyes were blood-red like jewels, gleaming with a bloodthirsty light in the darkness. Its mouth was full of sharp fangs, each as long as a dagger, sending chills down one's spine.
Its claws are incredibly sharp, easily tearing apart anything that stands in its way.
"It's a zombie! Everyone be careful!"
Zhang Hao shouted, quickly drew his weapon, and assumed an attack stance. The others also raised their weapons, ready for battle.
The zombie let out a deafening roar and pounced on the group.
It was incredibly fast, arriving in front of the fat man in an instant, its sharp claws slashing fiercely at him.
The fat man stared wide-eyed in terror, trying to dodge, but it was too late.
