Chapter 1181 YUNYUE VS FENGHUANG (XVI)

THE train manager inquired about what had happened and apologized for their negligence, promising to find the person responsible and deliver justice. But justice wasn't what mattered most to Mrs. Thompson right now.

"Manager, when will this train stop? We must get Mrs. Winslow to a hospital immediately," Mrs. Thompson demanded, her voice edged with urgency.

A conflicted expression crossed the train manager's face. With the bomb on board, stopping the train wasn't an option. Luo Yan wondered how exactly the manager planned to handle this.

Before Mrs. Thompson could press him further for answers, the door to their cabin swung open, and the doctor stepped out. He looked utterly drained, sweat dripping down his face like he'd just run a marathon—an unconventional sight, given the comfortably cool weather. It was clear that trying to save Mrs. Winslow had taken its toll on him.

Mrs. Thompson's attention immediately shifted to the doctor as he stepped out. "Doctor, how is Mrs. Winslow?"

The doctor removed his glasses and wiped his brow, his voice steady but grave. "Mrs. Winslow is stable for now, but she's lost a significant amount of blood. Rest is imperative if she's to recover, but her condition remains delicate. She needs proper medical care at a hospital as soon as possible. This is not something we can manage here on the train for long."

The tension in the air seemed to dissipate as both Mrs. Thompson and Miss Thompson let out sighs of relief. Mrs. Thompson clasped her hands together, visibly comforted by the news, while Miss Thompson exhaled, her posture relaxing for the first time in hours.

"Thank heavens she's stable," Mrs. Thompson said, her voice softer now. She turned to the manager, her tone quickly regaining its urgency. "Manager, when can we reach the next stop? She must be taken to a hospital immediately."

The train manager hesitated, clearly at a loss for how to respond. But with a practiced air of deflection, he quickly shifted the conversation. "What's important right now is keeping Mrs. Winslow comfortable. Doctor, is there anything else you need to stabilize her condition further?"

Luo Yan almost gave him a thumbs-up.

Noctis: [Mrs. Winslow had survived and would soon be transferred to a new cabin. I'll check on her later to assess her condition and see if she's well enough to talk.]

Morganite: [I will ask around later if any of the attendants saw a suspicious person loitering near the train car where the incident tonight.]

YUN: [I might be facing a bit of a problem on my end.]

White Marsh: [What problem?]

YUN: [Well, I just noticed a piece of paper on the floor. It must have been there when I came in earlier, and I must have accidentally kicked it. It ended up sliding near the edge of my bed, which is probably why I didn't see it until now.]

White Marsh: [What's the problem with that?]

YUN: [The note was from the woman my character was having an affair with, and judging by the words written on it, she was most likely Yan Yan's 'mother.']

If Luo Yan had been walking at that moment, he would have tripped after reading those words. A sudden memory flashed through his mind—lunch earlier, when he noticed Mrs. Winslow's reaction upon seeing Shen Ji Yun and Luo Jin together. He recalled how her jaw tightened, her teeth clenched, and her expression darkened. Could it have been because of that?

Noctis: [Are you sure it's from Mrs. Winslow?]

He had to ask just to make sure.
