Chapter 272 Felix's Bad Intentions
Chapter 272 Felix's Bad Intentions
When the sun shines through the trees.
When it shines on the top of Mordheim's bell tower.
Mordheim's night is over.
Manfred, the mastermind behind the incident, had already fled.
At the dilapidated city gate, three tall and one short figures walked out into the sunshine.
"Sigma, we did it!" Felix opened his arms as if embracing a new life.
The giant shadow of the scarlet dragon rose from behind them, and Elspeth followed it with a grateful gaze until it disappeared.
They successfully fought their way through Mordheim.
What even the imperial army couldn't do was accomplished by the four of them and the dragon.
"I feel like I have endless power right now," Felix said in high spirits. "Brothers, I need to write down our deeds!"
"Clever Felix and his comrades arrived in Mordheim..."
Felix started taking notes as soon as he returned to the camp.
This has always been his habit, to record their adventures.
Previously, it only recorded Gotrek alone, but when Felix was inspired by him and mustered up the courage to join the adventure...
He finally realized that he was no longer an ordinary imperial citizen... not even a human being!
Even though the number of enemies he killed was probably less than one thousandth of Gotrek's.
"Again?" Gotrek's eyes widened, then he turned and crawled into his sleeping bag. "Friends, it looks like we won't be leaving for a while. I'm going to get some sleep first."
After he finished speaking, snoring sounds were heard.
Liu Li and Espes looked at each other and saw the awkward smile in each other's eyes.
"There shouldn't be any major movement in Modheim for the time being, so we can indeed rest for a day." Liu Li yawned and patted the remaining bone fragments on his body.
Elspeth nodded slightly in agreement.
A night of fighting had left her soaked in sweat, sticky and uncomfortable.
They usually bathed in inns in towns and cities, and only occasionally sought out unfamiliar streams to wash.
As a woman, Elspeth couldn't accept the dirtiness of her body, but she didn't know how to speak up.
"Liu Li, is there a stream nearby?" Espes hesitated and finally said it.
"There's a stream on the map that's very close to us. How come..." Liu Li saw the curves of Espeth's body, which were tightly clung to his clothes, and immediately understood. "Okay, I'll point you in the direction, and you can just go there."
"Don't act alone again." Felix suddenly interrupted the conversation. "Luckily, I was the one who was captured. If it was someone else, they might not have survived the night."
Although Felix likes to exaggerate, he is very clear-headed.
He is the weakest in this team.
"It should be fine. What danger could there be in broad daylight?" Liu Li rolled her eyes and looked at Espes.
The latter coughed lightly, his tone somewhat inexplicable.
"Well, Felix is right. I should try not to act alone. Or...it's better if you take me with you..."
After saying this, Elspeth lowered his eyes embarrassedly.
"Three to one, the minority obeys the majority." Felix said with a smile, "I have Gotrek, so it's okay. Liu Li, be a gentleman and don't be so stupid."
"Okay." Seeing that both of them said so, Liu Li had no choice but to agree.
"Please come in, Miss Rose." Liu Li made a clumsy gentleman gesture, which made the two of them burst out laughing.
The two left side by side.
Felix showed a cunning look and began to insert his own ideas into the biography.
"The noble guardian of Nuln, Elspeth, and the dragonborn Liu Li from Cathay have developed feelings for each other..."
After leaving the camp.
A subtle atmosphere enveloped the two of them.
"There's a problem!" Liu Li's brows suddenly furrowed, and the urgency of her tone made Elspeth shudder. "Gotrek is already asleep, so how can there be a three to one ratio?"
Hearing that Liu Li was worried about this matter, Elspeth couldn't help but cover his mouth and chuckle.
The awkward atmosphere between the two also disappeared.
"Don't blame Felix for this. It's because you, Liu Li, are too careless." Espes teased Liu Li intentionally.
"I admit defeat." Liu Li sighed. "I didn't expect Felix to lie so calmly."
"Hmm, I should have discovered it earlier."
Espes' tone was light and cheerful, as if Liu Li's humiliation made her feel good.
Liu Li waved her hands, expressing helplessness.
The two of them started chatting back and forth along the topic.
But Liu Li preferred to talk about business or exchange magic theories, which made Elspeth feel at a loss.
"Liu Li, all I know about you is the fragments Felix said..." Elspeth sighed, "Why don't we go deeper?"
"What?" Liu Li was puzzled.
"Tell me about your family, Longzi's mother, how you get along, and...what does your fiancée look like, and how did you meet?"
After saying this, Elspeth's heart almost jumped into his throat.
"We're at the creek," Liu Li said suddenly, as if she hadn't heard Elspeth's question. "You go ahead. I'll stay behind the hill in the distance. Call me when you're better."
Following Liu Li's gaze, I saw a stream that was neither too wide nor too narrow, just enough for washing the body.
After saying that, Liu Li left without looking back.
Elspeth was stunned. She had never been ignored so deliberately before.
She looked at Liu Li's receding back, stomped her feet hard, and then walked towards the stream angrily.
After a while.
Felix saw the two return and was about to gossip about it, but was glared back at by Elspeth.
"Liu Li, did you peek at someone changing clothes?" Felix asked in a low voice.
"That's not the case." Liu Li shook his head.
"It's okay, I understand."
"..."
The next day, everyone headed north to Baker Harbor.
But the subtle atmosphere persisted, and Felix hinted at it, intending to speed up the process.
Gotrek's mood was always stable, always angry.
"Malakay Makaisen?"
During the chat, Liu Li became interested in a name that came out of Felix's mouth.
"Yeah, a really great dwarven engineer!" Felix said, then added, "But he's a butcher."
"That's indeed... rare..." Elspeth had a strange expression on his face.
A dwarf butcher being an engineer was beyond her understanding.
"I've heard of his inventions," Liu Li said seriously, "those airships and submarines, and of course, the famous 'Goblin Harvester'..."
"Ancestors, please don't let me ride on anything of his again." Gotrek showed a rare expression of lingering fear.
"I want to die in battle, not burn, fall, or drown!"
"Don't tell me he's in Baker Harbor!"
