Chapter 166 Brother, I was wrong
Chapter 166 Brother, I was wrong
Tan Haoyu stared at Zhu Ziqing and Xiaohua with a gloomy look in his eyes, as if he had become invisible air.
"Hmph." He snorted coldly, turned around and strode into the study, slamming the door shut with a deafening roar.
Upon hearing the study door close, Zhu Ziqing and Xiaohua were both startled.
Zhu Ziqing looked down at Xiaohua and asked softly, "Xiaohua, is Daddy angry?"
Little Flower barked a few times, wagging its tail even more enthusiastically, as if to say, "Daddy's so stingy!"
Zhu Ziqing couldn't help but laugh and rubbed Xiaohua's head: "Okay, you can play by yourself for a while. Mom will go make Dad a bowl of noodles."
She put down the little flower, got up and walked towards the kitchen, feeling somewhat uneasy.
"How can this guy be jealous of Xiaohua?" She shook her head helplessly, but couldn't help but smile.
Tan Haoyu was busy with work because he had to catch a flight in the afternoon, and he didn't even have time to eat dinner.
He didn't touch any of the food on the plane, and now his stomach is empty and he's getting hungry.
He sat at his desk, his brow furrowed, his fingers tapping unconsciously on the surface.
Zhu Ziqing had already noticed that he hadn't eaten, so she deliberately made him go back to his study in anger, actually to prepare a late-night snack for him.
She tiptoed into the kitchen. Although her leg injury hadn't fully healed, she could walk without any problems, but she couldn't walk for too long or exert herself too much.
She opened the refrigerator and paused for a moment.
The refrigerator was full of the ingredients she had just bought that day, all of which she needed to make noodles with minced meat sauce.
"This guy is quite thoughtful," she muttered to herself, a smile involuntarily creeping onto her lips.
The little flower circled around her, its tail wagging like a small fan.
Zhu Ziqing looked down at it, smiled, and patted its head: "Little Flower, are you hungry too? After Mommy delivers the noodles to Daddy, I'll make you something to eat."
Little Flower barked twice, seemingly understanding her meaning, and sat obediently to the side.
Zhu Ziqing quickly boiled water, washed vegetables, and prepared seasonings.
Soon, a steaming bowl of fragrant noodles with minced meat sauce was ready.
The little flower smelled the fragrance and excitedly chirped a few more times, looking at her longingly.
Zhu Ziqing smiled and comforted it, "Don't worry, wait for Mom to come back."
She carried the noodles carefully to the study door and gently knocked.
There was no response.
She hesitated for a moment, then pushed the door open and entered.
Tan Haoyu was sitting at his desk making a phone call, his face grim and his tone cold: "This matter must be dealt with immediately, I don't care what methods you use!"
He looked up and saw Zhu Ziqing bringing in noodles. His brows furrowed even more, but his tone remained icy: "Leave it here for now, I'll eat it later."
Zhu Ziqing stood there, caught in a dilemma.
She looked at Tan Haoyu expectantly and whispered, "Noodles taste better when they're hot; they don't taste good when they're cold."
Tan Haoyu hung up the phone, stood up, and picked up his coat: "I have to go out for a bit. You should rest first."
Zhu Ziqing was taken aback and hurriedly asked, "It's so late, are you still going out? Can you eat some noodles first before you go about your business?"
Tan Haoyu shook his head as he put on his coat: "There's no time, things are urgent."
He walked to the door, glanced back at her, and said, "Get some rest, don't wait for me."
Zhu Ziqing carried the noodles to the door and reminded her, "Then drive carefully. No matter how urgent the matter is, you have to deal with it slowly. Don't rush."
Tan Haoyu paused on the doorknob, turned to look at her, his eyes deep: "Come here."
Zhu Ziqing paused for a moment, then walked over to him with the noodles in her hand.
Tan Haoyu suddenly reached out and cupped her face, then lowered his head and kissed her hard.
"Don't worry, I'll be back soon." His voice was deep and gentle, with a hint of reassurance.
Zhu Ziqing blushed, her heart raced, and she lowered her head to softly hum "Mmm".
Tan Haoyu released her, turned around, and pushed the door open to leave.
Zhu Ziqing stood there, still holding the bowl of noodles in her hand, her face still flushed.
She looked at the closed door, feeling both sweet and a little worried.
"This guy is always so domineering," she muttered to herself, but a smile involuntarily crept onto her lips.
After seeing Tan Haoyu off, Zhu Ziqing sat alone at the dining table, picked up the bowl of noodles with minced meat sauce, but found no taste in it.
She lowered her head and stirred the noodles, her mind a jumbled mess.
Tan Haoyu sounded so anxious when he called just now, what happened?
She couldn't help but wonder, "Could something have happened to Poaris again?"
Remembering the last time Poaris got drunk at the bar, Tan Haoyu rushed over, which made her even more uneasy.
Meanwhile, Tan Haoyu was sitting in the car, his face frighteningly gloomy.
Driver Lao Zheng glanced at him in the rearview mirror and said cautiously, "Mr. Tan, don't worry too much. With Zheng Xiaokun here, Miss Poaris won't suffer any losses."
Tan Haoyu gave a cold "hmm," his gaze still fixed on the view outside the window.
His concern wasn't that Poaris had hit someone, but rather whether she would be harmed.
That girl always worries him.
About half an hour later, the car stopped in front of a hotel.
Zheng Xiaokun was already waiting by the roadside. When he saw Tan Haoyu get out of the car, he hurriedly came up to him and said, "Mr. Tan, you've finally arrived!"
His face was full of anxiety, and cold sweat was dripping from his forehead.
Tan Haoyu asked in a deep voice, "Where's Poaris?"
Zheng Xiaokun pointed to the park behind the hotel: "Over there, she won't let anyone get close, and we don't dare to force her."
Tan Haoyu frowned and strode towards the park.
Zheng Xiaokun quickly followed, explaining as they walked, "Miss Poaris drank too much at the celebration party, and later, for some reason, she got into a conflict with the crew and even hit someone..."
Tan Haoyu ignored his rambling and walked straight into the depths of the park.
From afar, he heard a song that sounded like ghosts wailing and wolves howling.
Upon closer inspection, Poaris was lying on a stone bench, holding a wine bottle, singing loudly, completely disregarding his image.
Tan Haoyu's face darkened instantly.
He strode over, hoisted Poaris onto his shoulder, and turned to leave.
Poaris was completely drunk.
Suddenly being lifted up, he immediately began to struggle desperately, using both hands and feet: "Let me go! Who are you! If you dare touch me, I'll beat you to death!"
Her fists swung wildly, and her feet kicked incessantly, like a crazed little beast.
Tan Haoyu was in excruciating pain from her kick, and his anger instantly surged to the top of his head.
He abruptly stopped and roared, "Tan Xiaoxuan!"
This roar, like a thunderclap, instantly silenced Poaris.
She shivered, her hands and feet frozen in mid-air, and she dared not utter another sound.
Despite being completely drunk, Poaris immediately recognized Tan Haoyu's voice.
In this world, only he dares to treat her like this.
Only he could instantly transform her from a wild and arrogant little cat into a docile little lamb.
Seeing that she had quieted down, Tan Haoyu snorted and continued carrying her toward the car.
Poaris leaned on his shoulder and whispered, "Brother, I was wrong..."
Tan Haoyu did not respond, but simply quickened his pace.
His heart was filled with both anger and helplessness.
This younger sister really made him both angry and heartbroken.
