Chapter 120 It’s really troublesome
Yu Yuetong looked at Ji Momo's embarrassed smile, her whole body tense, as if a storm was about to break, and her heart pounded like a war drum. "It seems the game has truly begun," she thought to herself, deciding not to back down any longer. "We must have a good time."
"Indeed!" Qin Reng's deep voice rang out, his face darkening. His gaze, like fire, fixed on Ji Momo as he pondered his plan. "Let's see what gives you the audacity to threaten me and Yu Yuetong!"
A gloomy atmosphere spread, sending chills down one's spine.
Ji Momo walked into the room with a magnanimous air, tidied the stray strands of hair behind her ear, glanced around, but her eyes stopped directly on the face of "the male lead Qin Reng," the body currently controlled by the female lead's soul. A meaningful smile appeared on her lips: "Sorry for coming in without knocking, but since this is your room, I should have some privileges, right?"
Alarm bells rang in Yu Yuetong's head. She secretly rubbed her forehead. This woman really knew how to stir up trouble. With just a few words, she had almost completely exposed the fake understanding between her and Qin Reng as a couple.
Ji Momo clearly sensed that something was wrong, but she wasn't in a hurry. Instead, she found a sofa and sat down leisurely, looking like a hunter who was confident of victory.
"Just say what you have to say," Yu Yuetong said coldly, breaking the awkward silence. He didn't want to waste time arguing with a green tea like Ji Momo. Just half an hour ago, she had confidently told Yu Yuetong that she would live up to his expectations, and he couldn't afford to let her down now.
Ji Momo calmly took off her handbag and pulled out a bundle of photos.
She gracefully held up one of the photos and pushed it in front of the two of them, her tone as sweet as honey: "My friend took this by accident. Tsk, I wonder if the young master of the Qin family needs to explain?"
The photo is very telling; it clearly shows "Yu Yuetong" in the HR department, talking to Ji Momo, who is starting her job, with a seemingly intimate and ambiguous expression.
However, if the underlying reasons for this scene were revealed, it would be incredibly awkward.
Yu Yuetong was pretending to be Qin Reng while handling documents. She did a lot of pretense to deal with things on the spot, but Ji Momo secretly photographed her and smeared her as a suitor.
"What am I supposed to explain?" Qin Reng raised an eyebrow, staring coldly at the photo, but feigning disdain as he casually tossed it onto the table. His personality was inherently awkward and somewhat stubborn, and this act only made the other person think he was too guilty to bother arguing.
However, Ji Momo clearly wasn't buying it. Hearing Ji Momo's confident laughter, Yu Yuetong was furious, but because they had switched bodies, she couldn't rush up and overturn the table. She forcefully suppressed her anger, and in her exasperation, she secretly pinched Qin Reng's arm with her hand hanging by her side.
"What are you doing?!" Qin Reng gasped in pain, but he had to maintain his "domineering CEO" image in front of Ji Momo, so he could only grit his teeth and accuse her in a low voice, "Are you sick?!"
"You made this mess yourself! Fix it!" Yu Yuetong retorted fiercely in a low voice, looking as if she wanted to hit him on the head with a hammer.
Ji Momo noticed the subtle interaction between the two, a hint of surprise flashing in her eyes, but she quickly concealed it, a harmless smile plastered on her face. "Oh dear, President Qin, these kinds of things, if we can't clarify them, it won't sound good if word gets out."
Qin Reng's brow twitched; a kind of animalistic intuition told him that this woman was definitely up to no good. Sure enough, the next second Ji Momo changed the subject, leaning closer, her voice lowered, yet shrouded in an eerie warmth: "However, since you two have such a good relationship, these photos must just be a mistake, right? How about this, I have a small suggestion: why not invite the media to dinner? By taking advantage of your 'show of affection,' these baseless rumors will surely dissipate completely."
Qin Reng's heart skipped a beat, keenly sensing the crux of the problem. He glanced up slightly, his eyes sweeping over Yu Yuetong, who stood to the side, her anger seemingly at its peak, and inwardly sighed at his bad luck. He absolutely wouldn't cooperate with this "show of affection," but the problem was…
Ji Momo stared intently at Qin Reng, a smile playing on her lips, yet tinged with an indescribable disdain. She even reached out and picked up a photograph from the coffee table, gently waving it as she added, "After all, we can't let people misunderstand that you two have a bad relationship, right?"
"You're right." Qin Reng spoke unexpectedly, his voice deep and cold, carrying an undeniable sense of pressure. He narrowed his eyes and stared at Ji Momo, his thin lips slightly pursed. "If you want to show off your love, that depends on whether I'm willing or not."
Ji Momo hadn't expected him to act so unpredictably, and her face stiffened, the atmosphere becoming tense again. Meanwhile, Yu Yuetong quietly sat down in her chair, arms crossed, glaring at him furiously while thinking: Qin Reng! You bastard, I'm so unlucky to have you!
Qin Reng's eyes sharpened as he stared intently at Ji Momo, a whirlwind churning within him. The woman's smile increasingly irritated him; he instinctively felt it was a trap, but he couldn't refuse outright. Beside him, Yu Yuetong seemed to be sweating profusely, as if she were about to strike at any moment.
"What a nuisance," Qin Reng said slightly, his voice as cold as the night. He feigned indifference, maintaining his usual domineering CEO demeanor, but a wave of uncontrollable turmoil was already churning within him.
Ji Momo smiled slightly, a hint of smugness flashing in her eyes. "So, you want me to release this photo to the media?"
"You dare?" Qin Reng snorted coldly, then added with a hint of displeasure, "Do you think this is a threat?"
Yu Yuetong clenched her fists inwardly, furious to the point of exploding. But in that split second, an unexpected thought popped into her mind: how interesting it would be if she could turn the tables and make Ji Momo suffer a loss too.
However, a fierce roar wasn't enough to express it verbally; as "Qin Reng," she had to take more direct action. She lowered her head and silently made up her mind, then casually opened her water bottle and deliberately tilted it towards Ji Momo, causing the water to spill out and wet Ji Momo's dress.
"Oh dear, I'm sorry, I'm just a dumbfounded idiot, I couldn't control myself." Yu Yuetong feigned innocence, but was secretly pleased with herself.
Ji Momo's eyes sharpened, and she glared angrily at her, her once gentle gaze now like a sharp blade. She immediately stood up, raising an eyebrow and demanding, "Are you deliberately insulting me?"
“I’m not like that,” Yu Yuetong immediately retorted, a disdainful smile playing on her lips. “I just didn’t control the water flow properly. If I really wanted to humiliate you, I would have used even more force.”
Qin Reng's heart skipped a beat, and he vaguely sensed a playful atmosphere. He had never seen Yu Yuetong like this before. The clash between reason and emotion made him always doubt that although the two had seemingly worlds apart temperaments, there was a subtle side hidden within them.
