Chapter 320: Phield VS Jamie (2)
Chapter 320: Phield VS Jamie (2)
"Kill Phield already. The money is yours."
The cloaked man could hardly wait any longer. The sooner the mission was completed, the sooner he could return and report to his lord. He did not want to remain in this cursed place for another second.
Just as Jamie unleashed her divine power and prepared to crush Phield, countless blood-red tendrils suddenly burst from the Greatsword of Gluttony.
Rosalia materialized in midair, seized the sword with overwhelming force, and wrenched it free from Jamie’s whip amidst a shower of sparks.
"Third-Tier Divine Skill, Endless Severance!"
A dense storm of chaotic sword energy erupted outward, filling the sky with dazzling sword light.
"Incarnate Synergy Battle, Endless Severance!"
Space itself was torn apart.
A massive dragon claw emerged like a colossal truck plowing through everything in its path, coordinating perfectly with Rosalia’s divine skill.
Another terrifying wave of sword energy followed immediately behind the first, forming a cross-shaped slash that swept through the heavens with boundless killing intent.
"Fuck! What the hell is that?!"
Jamie’s eyes nearly burst from their sockets.
A Third-Tier Divine Chosen had suddenly emerged from the divine artifact she had just stolen.
What kind of situation was this?
The cruel smile on her face froze instantly.
At this distance, escape was no longer possible.
The skill had been unleashed point-blank.
There was nowhere to dodge.
Bzzzz—
Following the deafening roar, a violent explosion erupted around Jamie.
Everything in the surrounding area was swallowed by the annihilating sword energy.
The one who suffered the greatest damage was undoubtedly Jamie herself.
A crimson figure was blasted backward through the air.
Blood rained from the sky as she flew like a kite with a severed string before crashing violently into a pile of jagged rocks and tumbling dozens of meters before finally coming to a stop.
"What just happened?"
The cloaked man was completely stunned.
Everything had happened so suddenly that he had not even processed it.
In his mind, a powerful Third-Tier Divine Chosen should have been able to kill an ordinary person effortlessly.
Rosalia landed gracefully and immediately pursued her target with the greatsword resting on her shoulder.
"You damned idiots! This is the foundationless exiled baron you told me about?!"
Shrieking like a vengeful ghost, Jamie staggered to her feet covered in blood.
Her outer clothing had already been reduced to dust.
Blood flowed continuously from wounds all over her body.
Pale white bones were visible in several places.
Fortunately, a Third-Tier Divine Chosen possessed cockroach-like vitality as well as a powerful divine armor.
Even so, Jamie’s right leg was nearly crippled.
Her left arm had been completely shredded by sword energy while attempting to block the attack.
"Huh? I didn’t know!"
A chill ran up the cloaked man’s spine.
His lord had confidently declared back then:
"Phield is nothing more than a discarded child of the family. A complete waste. Kill him whenever you want."
"And you call this a waste..."
Even if Phield himself was useless, the Divine Chosen under his command had severely wounded a powerful Shadow World Sect deacon with a single strike.
Now his own life was in danger.
Thinking of this, the cloaked man quietly retreated while carrying the Mist Dispelling Lamp.
"Wait. You’re a Corrupted creature too?"
Jamie wanted to flee, but her injuries made even circulating divine power difficult.
She immediately shouted,
"I know your companion. We’re on the same side. We can sign an agreement right now. We’ll bring humans for you to eat. How about it?"
"Companion. Tasty!"
Rosalia grinned strangely and charged forward without hesitation.
"Fuck! Corrupted creatures really are all the same. I’ll need Lipo and the others to help."
Cursing bitterly, Jamie hooked a finger.
Several specters crawled out from her shadow and sped toward Bull Territory.
"This is bad. She can summon specters without any casting delay."
Phield frowned and rubbed his forehead helplessly.
"I originally wanted to step in at the critical moment. Since things have come to this, Ashina will have to intercept them."
He blew a whistle and shouted into the gray mist.
"Ashina! See if you can intercept those specters!"
"Leave it to me!"
A response came from within the mist.
Phield could only see the ghostly blue flames spewed by the Drakewolf.
Like lightning within dark storm clouds, they periodically illuminated the mist with brilliant flashes.
The shrieks of specters echoing from the fog proved that dragonfire was highly effective at destroying souls.
The sight was so hopeless that Jamie burst out laughing.
"Hahaha! Another Divine Chosen. If your Ross family wants me dead, just say so directly. Why go through all the trouble of issuing a commission?"
At this moment, everything looked like a complete conspiracy.
They had deliberately lowered her guard and lured her into a prepared ambush.
"Fine. If that’s how it is, then none of you are getting away unharmed. I’ll make all of you die with me."
Biting down on the tip of her tongue, Jamie’s body erupted with blood-red light.
Her whip lashed out like a razor-sharp blade.
The crimson divine artifact was highly visible, yet the moment it struck, it moved so quickly that the naked eye could no longer follow it.
"Now this is more like the combat power of a Third-Tier Divine Chosen."
Compared to this, the Imperial Guards from before had been utterly boring.
Rosalia’s spirit soared.
Her eyes swept rapidly across the battlefield.
The moment she detected a disturbance in space, she immediately directed the dragon claw to defend her left flank.
Rip!
The suddenly appearing whip carved a deep wound into the massive dragon arm, exposing bone beneath the flesh.
After neutralizing the attack, Rosalia seized the opening and closed the distance instantly.
She swung her greatsword with brutal force.
Wrapped in a howling gale, the enormous blade covered nearly every possible angle around Jamie.
At the critical moment, Jamie retracted her whip and spun it into dazzling streams of light, forming an airtight defensive network.
The sword crashed down.
Nearby rocks and earth exploded instantly, reduced to dust.
"Hm? With injuries like that, she can still move?"
Seeing no enemy in front of her, Rosalia immediately realized the strike had missed and shifted into a defensive stance.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
The next instant, countless streaks of light rained down.
Metal clashed against metal.
Every strike Jamie landed against the dragon claw or the Greatsword of Gluttony exploded into brilliant sparks.
The occasional attacks that struck Rosalia directly posed no threat whatsoever.
"Now!"
A thought flashed through Rosalia’s mind.
The dragon claw suddenly reversed direction and seized Jamie’s whip in midair.
An irresistible force surged through it.
Jamie’s divine artifact was ripped straight from her hand.
"Now I don’t have to worry about divine artifact disintegration anymore."
Rosalia puffed out her chest proudly, placing her hands on her hips as though asking herself why she was so amazing.
"What terrifying strength. As expected of a Corrupted Divine Chosen. Phield, how exactly did you... cough... manage to make her obey you so willingly?"
Jamie landed heavily on the ground.
With her leg severely injured, she could barely remain standing.
She turned toward the large rock where Phield was hiding with only half his head visible.
"Stop flirting with my lord. Especially when you’re dressed like that."
Rosalia frowned and raised her greatsword, preparing to execute Jamie on the spot.
"We can talk."
Jamie spat out a mouthful of blood and spread her hands as though nothing was wrong.
Her eyes darted around constantly.
Just when Phield thought she was looking for an opportunity to escape, or perhaps preparing to rush over and behead him, Jamie’s blood-covered hand slowly reached toward her chest.
