Chapter 2716 - 2725: Heart Attack
Chapter 2716 - 2725: Heart Attack
Suddenly, amidst their conversation, the saleswoman exclaimed.
"Look, is she feeling unwell? Why is she holding her chest like that?"
"Really, her face is so pale."
"What should we do? Should we call an ambulance now?"
Enna Clark and Emily Goldsmith hurried over and indeed saw Wendy Hanson looking extremely pale, one hand pressing against her heart, gasping for air like a dehydrated fish, her whole body curling as if she’s unable to breathe.
Emily Goldsmith was startled, quickly stepping forward to support her, saying, "I remember she seems to have a heart condition. She went abroad for heart treatment before. This reaction seems to be a heart attack, right?"
Enna thought it appeared so and decided swiftly, "I’ll call an ambulance right away!"
She dialed the emergency line, reporting their location, with the other end stating they’d arrive within twenty minutes.
After waiting ten minutes, seeing Wendy’s condition worsening, Enna gritted her teeth and said to the two bewildered saleswomen, "It’s too late, she might faint any moment. The ambulance will take at least ten more minutes to arrive and then rush her back to the hospital. It would take at least half an hour altogether; I’m afraid she won’t make it. I’ll go get the car, you help her downstairs, I’ll drive her to the hospital."
"I’ll go with you!" Emily maintained her composure.
If Wendy’s sudden heart attack turned critical, the Hanson Family might vent their anger on them. Emily had called Enna out today; without her, Enna wouldn’t have encountered this incident. She couldn’t let Enna bear the consequences alone, no matter what.
"Alright."
Enna understood her intention, gave her a gentle look, and hurried downstairs to get the car.
Meanwhile, Emily and several saleswomen carefully helped Wendy downstairs.
When they reached downstairs, Enna had just parked the car at the entrance.
"Get in."
"Okay."
Emily and a saleswoman first helped Wendy into the car. The saleswoman and Wendy sat in the back while Emily took the passenger seat.
"Fasten your seatbelts, please. Miss in the back, please hold her steady so she doesn’t fall. I’ll be driving fast."
"Alright, Mrs. Lawrence, don’t worry, I’ll hold Ms. Hanson securely."
Enna checked Wendy’s condition through the rearview mirror, floored the accelerator, and the car sped towards the hospital—
*
Half an hour later.
Outside the hospital emergency room, members of the Hanson Family gradually arrived.
Wendy’s mother arrived first, and upon hearing Wendy was still in the ER, she appeared on the verge of collapse. Next, Mr. Hanson arrived, displaying much more composure than Mrs. Hanson. Although his face still bore anxiety, he was not as shattered as Mrs. Hanson.
He inquired with the doctor about the situation inside, then asked the accompanying saleswoman for details about the store incident.
Upon learning Wendy had been yelling and shoving people at the store, ultimately triggering a heart attack, his face turned a color mix like a palette; had Wendy not still been in the ER, he might have struck his stubborn granddaughter with a cane!
Despite his anger, he first apologetically replaced Wendy to apologize to Enna Clark, "Ms. Clark, it’s my fault for not educating Wendy properly. I apologize on her behalf; I’m truly sorry. I spoke to her a few days ago, yet she still didn’t come to her senses and caused trouble for you. I’m really sorry."
